Crispy Mozzarella Tortilla Melts

4 large flour tortillas

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons fresh basil, finely chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried basil)

1 cup marinara sauce (for dipping)

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, black pepper, and fresh basil. Stir the ingredients together until thoroughly mixed, ensuring an even distribution of flavors.

    Preheat the Skillet: Place a non-stick skillet or a cast-iron skillet on the stove and heat it over medium heat. While the skillet warms up, you can prepare the tortillas.

      Fill the Tortillas: On a clean surface, lay one tortilla flat. Take approximately 1/2 cup of the cheese mixture and spread it evenly over one half of the tortilla, leaving the other half free for folding. Gently fold the tortilla in half, pressing down lightly to secure the cheese mixture inside. Repeat this filling and folding process with the remaining tortillas.

        Brush with Olive Oil: Carefully brush both sides of each folded tortilla with olive oil. This will create a delightful crispiness as they cook.

          Cook the Tortilla Melts: Once the skillet is heated, gently place the first tortilla melt into the skillet.
