My Recipe Philosophy
I don't believe in shortcuts when it comes to recipe development. Every recipe on mumfoodcorner has been personally tested — often multiple times — to make sure it delivers consistent, delicious results.
My approach is simple: use accessible ingredients, write clear instructions, and never skip the details that matter. I know how frustrating it is to follow a recipe that doesn't work, so I take the testing process seriously.
I also believe in being honest. If a recipe takes more effort than average, I'll tell you. If there's a step you can skip, I'll mention that too. My goal is to give you all the information you need to succeed.
How My Cooking Journey Began
My love for cooking started in my family's kitchen. What began as helping out with dinner quickly became my favorite activity. I remember learning how to properly dice an onion at a young age — "Small, even pieces. It's not just about looks; it helps everything cook evenly." Those little lessons stuck with me.
My grandmother also played a huge role. Her comfort food recipes could warm your soul on the coldest day. Her handwritten recipe cards are some of my most treasured possessions, and many of the recipes on this site are inspired by her approach to cooking.
